GUILD JF30 BLD 1996
Along with Martin and Gibson, GUILD is one of the three major acoustic guitar brands from the United States. The company has been manufacturing dreadnought acoustic guitars since the early 1960s and has received high acclaim over the years for its balanced and rich sound.
The instrument we have in stock this time is the GUILD JF30 BLD, a jumbo model that GUILD specializes in, manufactured in 1996 at the Westerly factory—one of the production facilities through which GUILD has undergone various changes over the years.
The "JF30" is a jumbo-sized acoustic guitar combining a spruce top with a maple body. "BLD" refers to the Blonde color. The sides and back are made of Indian rosewood, and the fingerboard and bridge are made of rosewood. Other features include a 650mm scale, tortoiseshell pickguard, gold Grover tuners, and scalloped bracing.
The characteristic headstock logo features simple dot inlays, and the overall appearance gives a subdued impression that blends well with any genre. Our in-house repairman has completed saddle work and fret leveling, so the current playing condition is outstanding.
Since this is not an electroacoustic model, it functions as a pure acoustic guitar.
This guitar exhibits the powerful chord-strumming sound characteristic of GUILD, and the resonance when played with fingers is excellent. It is one of the finest acoustic guitars with virtually no drawbacks. While Gibson's jumbo-type guitars tend to have relatively quiet unamplified sound, GUILD feels considerably louder in comparison, and it's the kind of guitar that makes for enjoyable playing time at home. Among GUILD enthusiasts, the older Westerly factory models are apparently quite popular, and playing this guitar confirms why—it's truly excellent. It combines Martin's brilliance with Gibson's warm texture in a beautiful balance, and once you play it, you'll want it! I personally rate GUILD acoustic guitars very highly, so I'd like to recommend this one.
